Last Friday evening saw the likes of Shay Kelliher, Francis O Brien, Leon O Connor, Ewan and Cathal Morris, Brandon Long, Elliott Maher, Eoghan Ó Dalaigh, Rory Kavanagh and Odhran Foley all impressing. Well done to everybody and many thanks to coaches Chris, Sonny, Leo, Alan, Simon, Murt and Roland for helping out with the coaching. See ye all again this Friday evening Feb 24th.
Academy U-7 and U-8 Perfect weather for soccer greeted our under 7’s and 8’s for the visit of LB Rovers at the IT North Campus Astroturf pitch. We had enough players for two 5-a-side teams at u-8 and one 7-a-side at u-7 so everyone played a full game. At u-8 Saoirse, the birthday girl, captained her team. LB Rovers proved to be tough opposition and good teamwork was needed to make any breakthrough. A great range of skills were on display by both clubs and those to shine for Dynamos were Cillian, Ben, Nick, Saoirse, Ciaran, Rae, Fionn, Sean, Dara and Rory.
U-14 Cup : Dynamos advanced to the Quarter-Final of the Cup with a narrow 5-4 victory over Ballyhar at Cahermoneen last Saturday. In what was a nine goal goalfest Dynamos at times looked very comfortable but allowed a very game Ballyhar side back into the game on no fewer than three occasions. But ultimately, Dynamos were just about the better side with Man-of-the-Match Daniel Burke netting four goals and Sean Horan bagging the fifth. Best for Dynamos on the day was the aforementioned Danny as well as Philip Evans and Andy Rogers in mid-field and Washington Solomon in defence.
U-16 Cup : Dynamos received a walk-over from Iveragh Utd who were unable to field a team and thus the Reds advanced to the next round of the Cup.
Team of the Week : Congrats and well done to Danny Burke for being selected on the Kerry Schoolboys/Girls League team of the Week after netting four goals in Dynamos cup victory last Saturday.
Iveragh unable to field a team. Walkover given.
INTER KENMARE 2 TRALEE DYNAMOS 4

Inter Kenmare 2 Tralee Dynamos 4
We started the game slow and went a goal down within a few minutes of the start. This setback gave us a real good wake up call which Dynamos responded really well by taking the game to Kenmore we scored 3 goals in 5 mins spell. 1st goal was a superb volley from Danny Roche and a minute later a free kick from James Sugrue was whipped into the box where Danny Roche got a glancing header which guided the ball into the bottom corner of the net to give Dynamos a 2-1 lead. Dynamos extended their lead 2 minutes later when Aaron “Gazza” Houlihan finished off a great team goal.
Inter Kenmare created another couple of chances in first half where Gary Sugrue was called into making some top class saves. Dynamos defense as a unit were outstanding throughout the game with Edward Duggan, Jonathon Burrows and Aaron Dewey denying Inter on many occasions. Scott Monaghan on defense and offence had a huge game getting up and down the line non stop for the 90 minutes.
In midfield John Foley and James Sugrue dominated the midfield creating numerous chances by the speed of their play moving the ball at all times keeping Dynamos on the front foot. The midfield were well supported by John Farragher who got into some great positions that made Kenmare work extremely hard to track his movements.
Danny Roche and Gazza were outstanding through the whole game where they put in a great shift working their socks off for the team. Anthony Murphy was a thorn in the Kenmare defense making some dangerous runs in behind the Kenmare defense that caused havoc throughout. Anthony worked himself into the ground and lead the Dynamos line magnificently and was unlucky not to get on the score sheet with his header hitting the post.
Dynamos dominated the 2nd half and stayed solid controlling the game. Dynamos on the counter attack lead to the 4th goal pretty much guaranteeing the points when John Foley got in behind the defense and rounded the keeper to shoot into an empty net to give Dynamos a 4-1 score line.
Gary Nolan replaced Gazza Houlihan who sustained a knock late on. Kenmare scored one more before the end to leave the score line 4-2 to the visitors. Dynamos will be happy with their day’s work that moves them up to 5th in the table 9 points behind Fenit but with 2 games in hand.
U-11 League : Our U11s played against Mastergeeha away from home on Saturday morning @10.30.We ended up with 2 teams, where we split both teams evenly. On the other hand Mastergeeha had a slightly stronger first team, and a slighter weaker 2nd team, this did get reflected in the results. Our team that played Mastergeehas strong team lost 4-2, while our other team won 8-3.Overall, I was very pleased for a number of reasons:1. Most of our squad consists of players who are all under age again next year. Our team that lost 4-2 were playing against a very big physical team but still gave a great account of themselves. They were very unlucky to lose as they played great football and squandered a lot of chances 2. The last few weeks we have been working on defensive play including positional awareness and defending as a unit. It was really satisfying to see the kids put this into action yesterday 3. We were missing quite a few players, so considering this we still gave a very good account of ourselves.Training two nights a week and having a match at least bi-weekly is really starting to pay dividends as this group of players are starting to progress nicely. Thanks to Mastergeeha who were very hospitable on the day, hopefully they can pay us a visit in Cahermoneen some day. Teams : Odhran Foley, Cian Lynch, Matthew Rogers, Leon O Connor, Cathal Morris, Luke Silles, Jevon Carey, Adam Evans, Brandon Long, Pierce Lowth, Shane Crossan, Saoirse Kerins, Conor Crean, Andy Bogdanovic, Conor Lucey, Shayne Stack, Darragh Corridan, Francis O Brien, Mollie Duggan, Fionn Daly.
UNDER 15 PREMIER
Tralee Dynamos 6 Killarney Athletic 2
Leo Gaxha and Sean Kennedy both scored hat tricks to give Dynamos the win at a sunny Cahermoneen today.
Dynamos had good performers all over the park with Man of the Match Philip Evans first in the 10 position and then in the 2nd half dropped into midfield where he gave great supply of play all over the park for Dynamos.
Athletic were always a threat and lead by David Benson they were unlucky not to close the gap at 2 nil when they just skinned the post after a great team effort. Dynamos bought on Washington Soloman to deal with the threat of Benson in a man marking job and Washington gave everything for his team and helped the team win the game.
Special mentions also to David Smith at left back who played an outstanding game with Sean Horan in the middle of the park having his best game so far for the 15s. Derek O’Shea in goal made some vital saves in crucial times throughout the game. Derek had deputized for the injured Patryk Morawski who we wish a speedy recovery.
