Tralee Dynamos 5 Listowel Celtic 4
Cahermoneen was not for the faint hearted today as both sides played out a very exciting contest despite the heavy underfoot conditions. A nine goal thriller was great reward for all the supporters who braved the conditions.
Listowel opened the scoring with a long ball over the top with Dynamos looking for an offside call the game proceeded with the Listowel striker finishing well to the net to open the scoring for Listowel Celtic.
Dynamos equalising through a 25 yard free kick from Shane Lowth that went in to the top left hand corner via the underneath of the bar. Shane almost put Dynamos ahead with another free kick from the same range but was unlucky to hit the crossbar.
Dynamos scored the next two goals one from Simon Lorne who shot from close range to give Dynamos a 2-1 lead, Jonathan Burrows from a corner reacts fastest in a goal mouth scramble to score from inside the box to give Dynamos a good 3-1 lead going into the half time.
With both sides playing good attacking football one felt that the next goal would be a key factor in this game. Unfortunately for Dynamos it turned out to be a own goal from an inswinging corner that was headed by a Dynamos player into the net. Listowel seized the momentum and equalised a couple of minute s later 3-3 game on.
Cometh the hour cometh the man and it was that man again Shane Lowth who shattered the Listowel back line with his pace to score 2 goals both one on one finishes. Shane’s composure and finishing was the highlight of the day and his goals provided Dynamos with a vital 3 points.
Today the battling qualities of the team shone all over the park with every players putting in huge energy and commitment throughout the game.
