1st WIN EVER IN NATIONAL CUP!
Billy Stack writes: Our u12s had their maiden outing in the U12 national cup today with an away tie against Murroe from the Limerick league. We got off to the perfect start when a Shayne Stack ball sent Mathew Rogers through who in turn played a great ball to Adam Evans who lobbed the keeper with an inch perfect finish. Murroe attacked a few times but our defensive combination of Luke Silles, Shay Kelleher, Jevon Carey and Brandon Long were outstanding at the back. We gad another few chances with Darragh Corridon and Jake Hoare going close but it was 1-0 at the break.
Second half started with Murroe on top for the first 10 minutes but the young Dynamos boys were resolute and stood firm with massive effort into 50/50 tackles and off the ball running. Pierce Lowth came close with a great run and shot and was unlucky not to score. Our lads then tired a little and for the remaining 10 mins Murroe were on top with our man of the match goalkeeper Emanuel Brankovic making 3 or 4 brilliant saves. However at the end Conor Lucey combined with Mathew Rogers where we were unlucky not to register our second goal. Darragh Corridon and Jake Hoare also combined brilliantly in midfield creating another chance.
When the final whistle blew our lads were in celebratory mode and they got no more than they deserved. Onwards and upwards to the next round away to Rathkeale in 2 weeks time.
Thanks to Murroe for a sporting game and for the hospitality after the game, a nice club who im sure we will cross paths with again in the future.
