Tralee Dynamos 4 Dingle Bay Rovers 1

In a very entertaining and sporting final Dynamos just got the better of Dingle scoring a couple of goals late on in the game.

Credit to both sides for the quality of football they showed with the result in doubt all the way through and Dynamos ability to score their chances was all that seperated the team as Dingle more than matched Dynamos with the number of chances they created.

Dingle got of to the better start opening the scoring through James Hoare whose effort gave the Dynamos net minder no chance.

Dynamos showed great character to respond equalising a few minutes later from the impressive Thomas Quilligan who scored from the far side of the 18 yard with a strike into the top left hand corner of the net with a goal worthy of winning any game.

It got even better for Dynamos when Liam Moroney picked up the ball 30 yards central to the goals and hit a rasper of a shot into the roof of the net to give Dynamos a 2-1 lead at the break.

The second half saw both sides have periods of dominance with Dingle particularly dangerous creating numerous chances only to be denied by a strong Dynamos rearguard of Aidan & Luke Horgan, Rory Clifford and my vote for Dynamos man of the match Paddy McMahon. When Dingle got past our defense goal keeper Seamus O’Neill was there to save the young reds.

Dynamos got some breathing space with a tricky run by Thomas Quilligan into the box before releasing his shot that was well saved by Páidí Mac Gearailt who blocked the shot brilliantly but unfortunately for him the ball went into the path of Cody O’Brien who effort was blasted to the net from close range.

Evan Quilligan who was a driving force throughout the game from midfield made the game safe late on when another driving run into the box produced a moment of class shooting to the net giving Dynamos a 4-1 lead seconds before the final whistle.

Michael Naughton and Tommy Naughton presented the Under 13 John Joe Naughton memorial shield to Dynamos captain much to the approval of the large crowd present.

Many thanks to the management team of Terence O’Connor, Tommy Sheridan, Tim Clifford, Aiden O’Sullivan, Owen Horgan who had their team well prepared for the final.
