Academy : Our Academy continued at Cahermoneen last Friday evening and despite the adverse weather conditions great numbers were once again in attendance. Our Head Coach Robin was well pleased with the application and attitude of all the youngsters. Robin was ably assisted by Tony, Gavin, Theo, Alan, Murt, Ken, Noel and Roland. Academy training continues this coming Friday Sept 15th , beginning at 6 pm in Cahermoneen. New members are as always welcome.
Under 14 : Listowel 4 – 0 Dynamos. Conceding the four goals in the nine minutes before half time was the ultimate difference between two fine footballing sides. With Dynamos missing 5 first team regulars due to GAA commitments, we faced an uphill task from the outset but rallied together to perform admirably. Mossie Brennan made his debut as goalkeeper and was doing really well until he was forced off with a serious ankle injury before half time. We wish Mossie a speedy recovery from this setback. Best for Dynamos on the day were Donagh Stephenson, Mikey Murray and Mark Talbot.
Under 12 B : We had our first game of the year at home to Killoglin B on Saturday in bad conditions. Both teams put in a great shift for a very entertaining game which finished in a victory for Killorglin by 4 goals to 3.We started the game with a lot of young new players who were playing their first competitive game for dynamos it took them a bit of time to settle in to the game after a slow start where we went 2-0 down in the first 10 minutes players were finding their feet for the first half and we found it difficult to keep to their positions unfortunately we went in at half time 4-0 down. After a half time talk with coaches Gary Nolan and Alan Crean we came out for the second half and played a new team everyone held their positions well and after 10 minutes we were awarded a penalty for a foul on Fionn Daly which he took himself and got us 1 back we dominated the second half with Oisin O Carrol and Toby Obadina having a great game in defence. With 10 minutes left we got 2 goals from Christy Burke and Martin Quilligan which provided for a very exciting finish with a man of the match performance from our second half goalkeeper Emanuel Brankovich who was making his debut he pulled off a string of outstanding saves to give us a chance of tying up the game unfortunately time ran out for us but overall a fantastic performance by this very young team. Team: Jack Diggins Fionn Daly Francis O Brien Oisin o Carroll, Toby Obadina, David Joskic, Emanuel Brankovich, Saoirse Kerins, Christy Burke. Odhran Foley , Martin Quilligan, Peadar Burke
Under 12 A Our first competitive game of the season was at home in the league to Killarney Athletic. In the first half we played against the breeze and were under a lot of pressure and Killarney got a deserved lead just before the half. However in the second half Dynamos were the better team and two classy goals by Matthew Rogers saw Dynamos take the lead with just 5 minutes remaining. However two late goals, the winner at the last kick of the game saw Dynamos unluckily lose out on the day. Lots of positives though, we were missing a few players and of the 12 lads that lined out for this game, only two were u12 players, the rest were u11/u10 players so all in all very proud of the lads. Nadal Riviss McHugh, Conor Crean, Luke Silles, Leon O Connor, Pierce Lowth, Conor Lucey, Adam Evans, Cathal Morris, Shay Kelliher, Brandon Long, Matthew Rogers, Darragh Corridon
Team of the Week : Congrats and well done to Darragh Corridon who was selected on the Kerry Schoolboys League Team of the week after a sterling performance for the U-12 team last Saturday.
KDL Premier A : Inter Kenmare 0 – 9 Dynamos ( Shane Lowth 5, Klaudio Dema, Sean Foley, Jonathan Burrows, Simon Lorne )
